Why Laguna Hills Homes Need This

Why Laguna Hills Homes Need Upholstery Cleaning

Alan's Cleaning provides professional upholstery cleaning for sofas, sectionals, armchairs, dining chairs, ottomans, and other fabric furniture. We assess the fabric type first (synthetic, natural fiber, or blend) and select the appropriate cleaning method. Hot water extraction is used for synthetic fabrics; dry-cleaning solvent methods for natural fibers like wool, silk, or linen that can't tolerate moisture. Pet hair, food stains, body oils, and dust mites are effectively removed. Serving Laguna Hills and all of Orange County since 1990.

01
Year-Round Pet Shedding

California's warm climate means pets shed consistently all year, not just seasonally. Fur, dander, and oils embed in upholstery fabric and accumulate faster than in colder states.

02
Spring Allergy Season

OC pollen season from February through May drives demand for allergen reduction. Upholstery is one of the top reservoirs of pollen and dust mite allergens in any room.

03
Body Oil Buildup

Armrests and seat cushions develop sheen patches from accumulated body oils that vacuuming can't remove. Professional extraction restores fabric color and texture uniformly.

04
Pre-Holiday Refresh

November is peak demand for upholstery cleaning as OC homeowners prepare living rooms for holiday guests. Booking early ensures your furniture looks its best before gatherings.

Our Process

How it works:
six steps to a flawless finish.

Step 1

Fabric Assessment

We identify the fiber content and manufacturer care code (W, S, WS, or X) before selecting any cleaning method.

Step 2

Pre-Vacuuming

Surface debris and pet hair are vacuumed before wet cleaning to prevent embedding dirt further into the pile.

Step 3

Pre-Treatment

Stained areas and high-contact zones like armrests and seat cushions receive targeted pre-treatment.

Step 4

Cleaning

Hot water extraction for synthetic fabrics; low-moisture solvent method for natural fibers.

Step 5

Rinse and Extract

Cleaning agents and loosened soil are fully extracted. No detergent residue is left in the fiber.

Step 6

Speed Dry

Airflow is used to speed drying. Most upholstery is ready to use within 2 to 6 hours.

FAQ

Can't find the answer? Get in touch and we'll respond within 30 minutes.

How do I know if my upholstery can be professionally cleaned?

Check the care tag on your furniture: W means water-safe, S means solvent only, WS means either method is acceptable, and X means vacuum only. If your furniture is labeled X, we'll advise against wet cleaning. Most synthetic fabrics like polyester, nylon, and microfiber are W or WS and clean very well with professional equipment.

Can you remove pet urine from a sofa?

Yes, with enzymatic pre-treatment that breaks down urine proteins at the source. Heavily saturated foam cushion cores may hold odor even after surface cleaning because the liquid has penetrated the foam itself. We'll advise you honestly if we believe the cushions need replacing rather than just cleaning, so you can make an informed decision.

How long does upholstery take to dry?

Typically 2 to 6 hours depending on fabric thickness and room airflow. Running a fan or opening windows speeds this significantly. In OC's dry climate, upholstery generally dries faster than in humid coastal markets further north.

Can you clean outdoor furniture?

Yes. We clean outdoor fabric, slings, and cushions. Outdoor materials are generally more tolerant of water and pressure compared to indoor upholstery. We may use a different approach for outdoor furniture and will assess the material and condition before starting to make sure the method matches what you have.
